Kilgoris

Kilgoris Constituency is an electoral constituency in Narok County, former Trans Mara District. It comprises of three ethnic groups, that is, Maasai,Kipsigis and kisii.Maasai has three sub clans; Siria,Moitanik and Uasin Gishu(the largest). As per IEBC 2017, the total numbers of registered voters are 67,079 and the total population in the constituency is 180,417. The approximate geographical area covered by the constituency is 2,526.00KM2.

Education
There are 137 public primary schools, 32 private primary schools and 31 secondary schools in Kilgoris constituency. The performance of these schools is average.
Health
There are 45 health facilities in the constituency comprising of medical clinics, dispensaries, health centres, sub-district and district Hospital. There is no referral hospital in Kilgoris constituency.
Socio-Economic Activities
Most people in this region are pastoralists and farmers. Farming involves growing of maize and sugarcane in large scale. Sugarcane farming is increasingly becoming common due to the new sugar factory (Mara Sugar) situated in Enoosaen. The factory obtains sugarcane from both communities surrounding, that is, Maasai and the Gusii communities neighbouring.
Natural Resources
The constituency is an endowed region with Masai Mara Game Reserve and KilimaPesa Gold Mine Lolgorian. Maasai Mara National Reserve is an area of preserved Savannah wilderness in Southwestern part of Kenya along Tanzanian boarder. Wild animals include the big five; lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and hippos.wildbeests traverses its plains during their annual migration to Serengeti Tanzania.
Kilimapesa gold mine in Lolgorian is beneficial to both local community in terms of job creation as well as the country. The Gold plat Plc. has two market leading operations in South Africa and Ghana hence earning the country a foreign exchange.
